They Had Dreams
Each of them once harbored dreams, yet those dreams became amputated alongside different parts of their bodies or through injuries that will forever shape their lives due to the war they were born into. They bore no guilt but sought tirelessly to overcome their disabilities in various ways, steadfastly pursuing their dreams with the energy of youth.
Each child sketched out their dream of what they would become when they grew up, but war didn’t merely obstruct; it cruelly robbed them of the possibility for a lifetime. My project portrays a series of children, close in age, each with their own unique dreams. However, due to their injuries and the loss of limbs, the dream remained unfulfilled, despite their youthful vigor and passionate pursuit.
These children represent a poignant narrative of resilience and determination, as they continue to strive with great fervor towards their dreams despite the harsh realities imposed by war.
